Welcome everyone to May, and our next round of TDM and Apps! This month we’re leaving behind one weird region and entering an equally strange location; the Convoy slowly rolls into a massive valley where gravity just doesn’t work like it should.
Parts of the land float in strange islands, as do trees and even Husks. This includes
the remnants of an old battle ground between monsters and more of those metal cyborg soldiers; all of which are dead, but capable of being looted and investigated.
The buildings are also effected, with the odd ruins growing upside down out of the earth, and the interiors constantly twisting and turning. The buildings have also been mashed together, with various strange research facilities bleeding into hospitals, schools, and the like. All manner of strange monsters wander these lands… And one monster in particular is going to cause some interesting effects.
As Drifters wander through the valley, they have high odds of coming in contact with strange glowing sage brush. This brush will incur various telepathic effects on characters.
Blue Glow: Makes Drifters more empathetic in a psychic sense. They can register the emotions of those nearby, and may start to feel those same emotions.
Green Glow: Makes Drifters capable of projecting their emotions onto other people. Like empathy in reverse! This can range from a slight buzz of emotion to fully magnified and mirrored emotions. (Note: Please talk this effect out with other players in advance!)
Purple Glow: Gives Drifters telepathy, to hear and send thoughts to those nearby.
Orange Glow: Grants Drifters limited psychometry. (Object reading.) This is perhaps the most sporadic of the powers, fluctuating strangely and only working on an object or two per Drifter.
Drifters will also find that they can link dreams and share them… Though eventually those dreams can easily become nightmares. And nightmares can transform Drifters, if they are severe enough. The nightmares presage an attack of Intellect Devourers at the end of the month, which swarm the camp! It’ll be a task to repel them.
Psychometry Reading In addition, those who gain psychometry and try reading objects in this location can take part in our second RNG event! Please comment to the “Psychometry Readings” below, and specify whether your character will be using psychometry in either the
battle ground or the
hospital ruins. We will then roll up one of seven prompts for each one, and give you the resulting vision to play with!
Event Monster: SwarmTo top it all off, we also have
Swarm traits active this month, to further roll with the psionic angle! When our TDM goes up, we’ll continue with Swarm traits, and further delve into the hospital ruins with more exploration. And a little more gravity shenanigans. We’ll see you then!
